The company was founded by Mike Corbin and his son,\u00a0Tom Corbin.<\/p>\n In January 1996, Corbin Motors began work on developing an electric vehicle. The Sparrow passed final testing for\u00a0Department of Transportation\u00a0certification in April 1999. In September of that year, the Sparrow\u00a0production line\u00a0began manufacturing multiple vehicles in\u00a0Hollister, California. They also made the\u00a0Corbin Merlin\u00a0that was available as both coup\u00e9 and roadster.[2]<\/sup><\/p>\n Fewer than 300 Sparrows were produced. Corbin Motors filed for\u00a0Chapter 7bankruptcy\u00a0on March 31, 2003, effectively killing the immediate future of the Corbin Sparrow.[3]<\/sup>\u00a0A bankruptcy court passed the Corbin assets to Ron Huch’s company, Phoenix Environmental Motors, which tried to revive the Sparrow. There were discussions about the production being continued by SLP Canada.[4]<\/sup>\u00a0On August 5, 2004,\u00a0Ohio\u00a0businessman\u00a0Dana Myers\u00a0bought the Sparrow interests from Ron Huch, forming the new company Myers Motors.<\/p>\n The new company upgraded the Sparrow, renamed it the\u00a0MM NmG<\/strong>\u00a0(“No more Gas”), and started selling it in April 2006.[5]<\/sup>\u00a0In June 2008 the website listed a price of $29,995 without taxes or shipping.
